Revenue Operations: Media Buyer

The Details

Mashable is seeking a Media Buyer to work within the Sales team to create and manage partnerships with key ad networks and publishers to buy digital media, develop and drive media strategies, and execute business critical user acquisition campaigns. 

The Day-to-Day

  • Digital media buying using major display, and video buying strategies to fulfill audience extension campaigns
  • Digital media buying utilizing social and search networks in order to drive traffic to
  • Media buying across social platforms for audience extension
  • Owning all steps of the order placement process:
  • Providing recommendations to Yield and Revenue Operations teams on media buying strategies and market place opportunities to fulfill stated objectives

​Must Haves

The successful candidate will be an inspiring and confident leader with at least:

  • Experience buying media across multiple screens and formats in a data driven way
  • Experience analyzing conversion rates, acceptance rates, failure rates, bounce rates, and other common KPI’s
  • Proficient with Excel (Pivot tables, Data Visualization, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, etc.)
  • Basic familiarity with SQL a plus
  • Excellent interpretive skills, allowing the candidate to understand and make recommendations to improve our business
  • Experience managing external vendors as needed
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Creative: Ability to create display creative and text ad copy capable of high click-through and conversion rates
  • Communicative: Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish, develop, and maintain business relationships
  • Deadline Oriented: Have demonstrable work history meeting and exceeding deadlines and business targets
  • Adaptable: Capable of adjusting to changing priorities, sometimes daily
  • Resourceful: Great at solving unstructured problems with little to no supervision in a fast-paced, high stakes environment
  • Team Player: Demonstrates a strong ability to contribute to the business along with business unit team members and managers; establish collaborative relationships with peers
  • 3-5 years of experience in digital media buying
